Local Artist Creates Custom Watercolor

Jun 4, 2018

At Ivory Tree, showcasing our artistic talents as artistry is the foundation of our studio and our signature look. Connecting with other local artists is an essential component to curating our in-studio backgrounds. It’s about creating a look that’s unique to the Main Line, Wayne, Ivory Tree and your family. It’s about supporting other artists who pour the essence of who they are into their craft. It’s about local supporting local.

Moran, Local Artist

Andrea Moran is a local painter, illustrator and textile artist whose work is linked to change of time.  “Everything is transient, and art captures the fluidity of life and style,” says Andrea. We think this is not only brilliant but also totally representative of what we do – we capture a moment in time for families to treasure as they grow and change. As we like to say, “They’re only this little once.”

Moran, Creating The Canvas

We commissioned Andrea to create her largest canvas to date focusing on the colors of nature. Her watercolor canvas, spanning 20 feet long, explores eucalyptus, grey, ivory and blush. Not only representing Ivory Tree’s colors, but also the setting sun, morning sky, and how the day transitions. The canvas spans our largest wall in the studio moving from color to color with amazing, well, artistry.’

‘I loved painting this background – the inspiration came directly from conversations with the talented photographers at Ivory Tree, the gorgeous décor, and the beautiful photographs displayed throughout the studio’ – Andrea Moran

About the Author

Lara Aman Mattey

Founder I Owner I Ivory Tree

Lara is the coolest person alive, according to her husband, Nick, & two little ladies, Caitie & Lorelai. But she thinks her time is limited on that statement as they continue to grow older. Lara comes from a large family, with whom she is still very close with & you’ll often see shared through the blog and on social media. She went to Penn State (We Are…) where she met Nick.

Ivory Tree's very own photographer, Marcy shot her newborn photography sessions & Lara was hooked! Lara is not a photographer, super weird, we know. But lives for the experience, creative direction, and meeting all the cool folks who come through the Ivory Tree Portraits studio!

In addition to studio awards, Lara was also recognized at a Women of Influence on the Main Line in 2023.

Follow along as she shares studio antics, personal antidotes, & fun stuff going on in the community.
