School’s out! The start of summertime always reminds me of my childhood summers. Running around the neighborhood with friends, playing tag, setting up lemonade stands, eating popsicles and feeling free with bare feet. [Confession for those of you who haven’t yet been into the studio: I’m always bare foot! A little something from childhood I don’t think I’ll ever outgrow.]

It’s my childhood memories of summer that got me thinking: How can we capture the essence of season? Longer days where the sun lingers well into the evening. More time with the kiddos. Doing less and loving it more. It’s such an amazing time of year. That’s why this summer we’re filling the studio with fun and unique sessions, each a little different so that everyone can fulfill their summer dream.

 

LIMITED EDITION – Manor House

Our limited edition sessions are carefully crafted outdoor sessions at fun places around the region. Once a season we pick a location that we fall in love with, that we think is unique, that captures the essence of the season. In June, we’re at Manor House at Prophecy Creek. Typically a wedding venue, it’s full of surprises including a beautiful pond for reflecting, a stone bridge for beautiful architecture, a red barn for the farm house chic in us all, lush pathways to meander around and an old fashioned swing hanging from a beautiful tree.

 

This season we did a special site visit with our team members! Ashley let her toddlers play, while Marcy and her teenager chose to spend time reflecting. Kaeleigh and her cousin had a special connection with the location, since they held their wedding there, we felt if was a perfect way to capture the next chapter in their life with a maternity session. We fell in love with Manor House during our visit – it’s a setting so natural that kids can just be themselves. Come explore, let them have fun – we’ll capture it!

 

Dreamily Draped Wisteria

As we drove around Wayne with the windows down, we saw wisteria everywhere and were inspired. Lush wisteria draping dreamily across a warm summer landscape makes us think of beauty, love and fertility – things that are meaningful to families and the family tree. Each season we take what’s inspiring us and curate a Seasonal Vignette – an in-studio look to inspire families. Creamy yellow and draping wisteria capture the essence of summer and will be our focal point for the season. You can experience wisteria in our sessions from now through August.

 

Christmas in July

Everyone always says, “I wish I had my holiday portraits done while I was tan.” So this summer, we’re heading to the Christmas Tree Orchard for staged holiday photos while you’re looking and feeling your sun kissed best! This special session is in the fields so come dressed for the holidays!  Those who book these sessions will receive complimentary holiday card addressing with any holiday card purchase. You’ll thank us when you’re ready for the holidays before the school year even begins!
