Confetti is the universal symbol for celebration. Celebrations are meant to celebrate you, your family, the diversity among us and to have a blast. Plus, what better charity to celebrate than The Trevor Project!
Ok Mom, Why Confetti Sessions?
So, my love of confetti started with Lorelai’s love of confetti and sparkles. Like any crazy mom, we threw her 5th birthday in the studio with confetti sessions. And I swore I’d never do that again as I was finding confetti until we moved out of that space! But when I was looking back through my albums over the holidays (yes, I get an annual album and look through them when the studio closes between Christmas and New Year’s) the images are literally still some of my favorite. Her giggle. Nick’s smile. And I was like we have to do this for clients, it’s too good to keep for myself. So here we are doing the crazy thing that all mom’s know not to do, give kids confetti!
The Charity – The Trevor Project
As we were planning the calendar of events this year, I was thinking about where we could include confetti sessions. And it came to me, what better Charity to celebrate than The Trevor Project. While I personally have been a #proudally since college (and before hashtags) creating a culture of inclusion is at the core of our values at Ivory Tree. It is firmly entrenched in who we are as a company. Every kid deserves to see a family that looks like theirs or other kids that look like them.
Like The Trevor Project, we support all of our LGBTQ parents and youth as a welcoming and loving place. I’m always ready for a #freemomhug (another amazing organization that simply gives hugs to kids that need it), plus we all know I’m a huger! The Trevor Project’s mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ young people. It’s an incredible charity with an amazing number of resources.
Our confetti sessions are really designed for anyone who wants to celebrate or simply to have fun! And I honestly can’t believe how cute they are! My ladies and my nieces were all giggles (even the teens) during their confetti sessions! So we hope you can join us for this light and fun event, where your donation goes to a very serious cause!
xoxo
